PREPARE FOR DELIVERY
Tips to make your delivery go smoothly!
You find our you’re pregnant, now what?! As a first time mother, I had a LOT of questions about what to do, what to expect and everything inbetween. I’ve put together some of the best things I learned along the route to help you prepare for your beautiful baby.
BEFORE CONCEPTION -
This may be a little late for some of you reading this, but for others who are considering having a baby, here are some things to do beforehand:
Interview OB’s - Take into consideration what hospital they are at and make sure the hospital has everything that you want (bath tubs, wireless monitoring, will let you go past 41 weeks, etc.)
20 WEEKS PREGNANT -
Take a birthing class. Bradley Classes were really informative for us!
28-30 WEEKS PREGNANT -
Interview pediatricians
Start taking a probiotic to help prevent Strep B - Strep B is a yeast infection in your vagina, and you will need and the baby will need to go on antibiotics as soon as baby is born.
Interview chiropractors for baby
Start seeing a chiropractor for yourself to make sure you are in alignment for delivery. Many chiropractors can even help flip your baby if he/she is breach. You’ll need to start the process sooner than later though if you want it to work.
34 WEEKS PREGNANT -
Create your birth plan
Start doing perineal massage.
Start taking raspberry leaf pills and drinking raspberry tea to help prevent tearing.
Test your baby bottles. Even if you purchase new ones, put some water in the bottle, turn it over slowly and see if any water comes out without you having to shake it. If water comes out immediately, then throw it away or return it. Your baby will get too much milk and they’ll get gassy and fussy because of it.
Look into Rebozo sifting to aid in your delivery.
36-37 WEEKS
Create and print birth affirmations.
Start napping daily because baby could come at any time and you want to make sure your body has energy for labor.
Begin packing for the hospital, or at least get your list together of everything that can go into your bag quickly.
Here is my packing list
Start taking Evening Primrose to aid in effacement of your cervix. This will help you not go past your due date.
40 weeks
Walk daily.
Have sex and orgasm to help put you into labor.
Start nipple stimulation.
Apply pressure on your pressure points
